Our Actions
for the Climate in Switzerland
Since 2021, the association 1 Franc pour le Climat has planted more than 9,200 trees in partnership with our friends at Almighty Tree. More than CHF 300,000 has also been invested to support short circuits, local producers, artisans and innovators in the sustainable food sector in Switzerland.
01. Support for local producers
In Switzerland, many talented suppliers play a key role in strengthening short supply chains and supporting local producers. Their work, often carried out in an exemplary and sustainable manner, helps preserve the local economy while respecting the environment. Today, the association 1 Franc pour le Climat collaborates with more than 30 listed suppliers. Thanks to this initiative, 40 cents per franc collected are donated to these suppliers when orders are placed by partner restaurants, thus strengthening a local and sustainable economic model.
02. Tree plantations in Switzerland
Since 2021, with our friends from Almighty Tree, we have organized more than 12 plantations and planted more than 9,200 trees in Switzerland. These days are an opportunity to reforest but also to create unforgettable moments, filled with smiles and beautiful encounters. The teams of the partner restaurants actively participate and learn exciting things about the biodiversity of our forests thanks to the explanations of Aline and Gilles who share their knowledge with enthusiasm.
03. Sustainable Entrepreneurship Grants
In 2025, 1 Franc pour le Climat is launching scholarships for sustainable entrepreneurship, specially designed to support Food Entrepreneurs who strengthen the Swiss economic fabric of local and sustainable suppliers, serving professionals in the hotel and catering industry. These scholarships will help entrepreneurs launch their first productions and bring their projects to fruition. Selection will be based on applications by a committee of the association. of suppliers
Supporting suppliers in Switzerland means encouraging committed entrepreneurs who are reinventing local production with passion, creativity and sustainability. Behind each product, there is a craft brewery that is shaking up the codes, a cheesemaker who is modernizing know-how or a workshop that transforms local ingredients into bold new products. By favoring local suppliers, we reduce intermediaries, limit transport and avoid unnecessary packaging. Consuming locally is making a concrete choice for a more sustainable model that respects our environment.
